The Anunnaki's mining operation on Earth was
in charge of two half-brothers with the titles of Enlil "Lord of
Heaven" (which Sitchin translates to: "Lord of the
Command"; the mission commander, usually translated as "Lord
of the Wind") and Enki, "Lord of the Earth". Because
the work was too heavy for the small workforce, they genetically
altered the most intelligent and capable species available, which was
possibly the African "Homo Erectus".
In Genesis,
the first book of the Bible, there is already the mention of gold and
had apparently been found in abundance in the land of "Havilah".
From Genesis
2:10-12:
"10 A
river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was
separated into four headwaters.
11 The name of the
first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah,
where there is gold.
12 (The gold of that land is good;
aromatic resin and onyx are also there.)"
As told in the Bible, the "Garden of Eden" was located at the outcome
of four rivers. The Euphrates and the Tigris still exist to this day
but the other two rivers: the Pishon and the Gihon, never had been
found until in recent years. With the help of satellite technology, a
dried up fossil river had been found whose location corresponds to that
of the Pishon. Dr.
Juris Zarins believes that the Gihon is the river which is now
known as the Karun River, which was a perennial river until it got
dammed. After spending seven years working out his own hypothesis, he
concludes that the Garden of Eden may be at present below the waters of

According to Sitchin's translation and interpretation, the
Anunnaki practically tried to create a primitive slave species to aid
in their work. The goal was to create a type of worker that was
capable enough, but not too intelligent to question and resist their
work. However, the scientist Enki, who conducted the genetic
work, later decided to make this species more intelligent (against
the will of Enlil, the commander) and so a species closer to modern
man came into existence: first the "AdaMites" and later the
"AdaPites"; the "Civilized Humans". (This is
probably from where the name "Adam" originated, because the
Hebrew word Adam can also refer to a group as a whole as it can be
translated as: "earth", "man" and "mankind".)
These ancient genetic interventions could be the reason why today's
archaeologists are still not able to find the supposed "missing
link" between the apeman and modern man.

Andrews suggests in her book: "Atlantis: Insights from a Lost
Civilization" (1997), that this modified race could be the race
of Cro-Magnon man; the oldest known modern humans (Homo sapiens
sapiens) in Europe. Because of their larger brain capacity, it may be
possible that the Cro-Magnons were the first Adapites; the "Civilized
Humans". "Civilized" is to be understood as that
civilians lived in cities, by which they differentiated themselves
from barbaric communities.
If the Sumerian "myth" is
true, it could possibly mean that: Modern man would actually be a
hybrid being, genetically altered by these technologically advanced
extraterrestrial beings who mixed their own genes with the genes of
the apeman of the Earth, resulting in the creation of a new human
race that likely became gradual intermixed with the other available
races in time that made the human race larger, stronger and more
intelligent.
In November 2013, revolutionary results from
genome analysis were presented at a meeting on ancient DNA at the
Royal Society in London that suggested that interbreeding went on
between the members of several ancient human-like groups in Europe
and Asia more than 30,000 years ago, including a yet-unknown human
ancestor from Asia that is neither modern human, Neanderthal or Homo

This shows that, for modern science, there are still many unanswered
questions about the origins of mankind on Earth.
In the
Akkadian myths we find the story of "Adapa and the Food of
Life", from the El-Amarna tablets (see:
www.sacred-texts.com/ane/adapa.php),
which had been dated at the fifteenth century BC. According to the
story, Adapa was the son of the god Ea - known as Enki by the
Sumerians - and he was both half god and half man, and therefore he
had superior intelligence compared to ordinary man but did not have
eternal life, as the gods did. His name could have to do with the
word: "to adapt", perhaps because he could adapt to the
gods' level of civilization. He had the right to live in the garden
of the gods, called the Garden of Eridu (possibly the Biblical:
"Eden"). Eridu was regarded as the world's first city in
Mesopotamian tradition. Because of the similarities between the story
of the Garden of Eden and the myth about the garden of Eridu, the
Biblical Adam could be the same person as the Akkadian "Adapa".
According to the Biblical story, the serpent actually seduced Eve to
eat from the forbidden fruit, but in the Akkadian version there is
however no mention of a spouse for Adapa, and there was
never found
a Sumerian counterpart of the Adapa legend.
If we read the
book of Genesis from the Bible carefully it seems that - apart from
Adam, Eve and their siblings - there where more people on Earth
during that time. It is described that Cain - one of the sons of Adam
and Eve - would have found a wife in the land of Nod to which he was
exiled (after he had slain his brother Abel) and then he became
worried that he would find people who would kill him, because of his
deed. From where did this woman and other people came from if Adam,
Eve, Cain and Abel really were the first humans on Earth? Although it
is not mentioned in the Biblical text, in the Jewish scriptures
however it is mentioned that Adam and Eve also begot daughters, so
this would explain the presence of this woman and those other
people.
According to Edgar Cayce, Homo Sapiens appeared in
five different places on Earth at the same time, as the five races
that currently exist. So that is why there actually were multiple
"Adams" and "Eves", and each of them has their
own creation story. It is very noteworthy that Enkai (Engai/Ngai,
Mweai/Mwiai) is the supreme being and creator in the religions of the
ethnic groups Rendille, Kamba and Kikuyu of Kenya. The name Enkai is
of course strikingly similar to the Sumerian name Enki. Enkai is
known as the guardian over rain, fertility, the sun and love, and who
gave cattle to the Masai people. The deity would live on the holy
mountain Kirinyaga (Mount Kenya).
